The Lebessos Winehouse & Restaurant was once the most important house in Kayaköy. Built over 400 years ago, the house was renovated in 1859 by Nicholaus, the then Mayor of Kayaköy, who made it his home. The village of Kayaköy was evacuated between 1915 and 1922, as part of the Greek/ Turkish exchange, and the house stood empty for many years.
The house was eventually transformed in a restaurant in 2005, with the original stables converted into an impressive wine cellar, housing hundreds of bottles of wine from all around the world.
The restaurant offers breath-taking views over the ruins of the old Kayaköy village, otherwise known as the Ghost Town.
The restaurant is owned by Serkan Boztas, originally from Istanbul but who now lives in London.
The Lebessos Winehouse & Restaurant offers an extensive menu, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner between the hours of 9am until late evening.
The Lebessos Winehouse & Restaurant can cater for special occasions and offer free wine tasting before your meal and complimentary transfers to and from your hotel or apartment.
